Our Story

Born in 1886, Durham University Athletic Football Club (DUAFC) is the fourth oldest sports club in the University. Our story is one that continually aims to inspire the extraordinary.

The 2022/23 season saw DUAFC take their first step into non-league football as they partnered with Durham United FC to compete in the North-East’s Wearside Premier League. The league has proven a good test for the boys, with the different style of football certainly developing all involved.

Also in 2023, the M1s became the first men's side since 1956 to be crowned national champions, defeating Stirling University 2-1 in the final.

For the 2024-25 BUCS League Campaign, the three men’s teams will compete in Northern Tiers 1, 3 and 4 respectively.
